Posted by ALPAR Christmas Tree Recycling December 28, 2025 – January 15, 2026, at select CARRS/Safeway stores, including these East Anchorage stores: Aurora Village, Eastgate/DeBarr, and Muldoon.
ALPAR invites you to recycle your live Christmas tree at Anchorage, Eagle River, or Palmer CARRS/Safeway stores – just look for the designated drop off area.
Trees must be free of all decorations, lights and plastic bags – and no wreaths, please!
Trees are turned into wood chips for trails, gardens and parks.
The program ends January 15th, 2026.
Recycle holiday string lights and bulbs for free in Anchorage (Dec 28 – Jan 15):
· Anchorage Recycling Center: 6161 Rosewood Street (bins are open 24-hours)
· Total Reclaim: 12050 Industry Way, #10 (drop off in lobby 9am-4pm weekdays only)
